The project:
Georgia O´Keeffe was one of the most important representative figures of modern art.
During her life she developed a unique and personal style where interpretation was much more important than representation. Her distinct flowers, dramatic cityscapes, glowing landscapes, and images of bones against the stark desert sky are iconic and original contributions to American Modernism.
The Georgia O´keeffe Museum takes care of a collection of artwork by O’Keeffee, including nearly 150 oil paints, 700 sketches and important pastels, watercolors and charcoals. Additionally it also includes her personal property like her working materials and photographs.
Being one of my favorite artists I decided to redesign the museum’s brand and communications. The goal was to make this website not only highly functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
The visual
To start the redesign of the website I analyzed the existing website and some of its key elements.
The Georgia O’Keeffe museum was created for business, gain more visit (buying tickets) and selling museum artwork.
I redesigned the brand so that communicated trust, credibility and had a friendly layer while showed off the personality of the company.
I used the white space between the website elements to balance out the information.
Helped out by the artists photos and artwork, we created a vibrant composition colors given by the photos and rhythm.
The typography used on the titles and headings is a sans-serif based on the minimal visual identity.
